Why Gender and Women’s Studies? | Why Our Program?
- Our students gain a deep understanding of race, gender and class – the interconnected systems that shape individual and collective social experiences.
- Our students actively engage in interdisciplinary courses that include political science, economics, history, sociology, psychology and social work.
- We offer two minors: gender and women’s studies and queer studies, which enable students who are majoring in other fields to apply these issues to their disciplines.
- Topics covered in the Bachelor of Arts in gender and women’s studies include: feminist theory, gender and sexuality, literature, art history, global politics and social justice.
Rhode Island College is the best value in higher education. In-state students can attend two years tuition-free under the Hope Scholarship, while our Northeast Neighbors are offered a 40 percent discount.
